Thinking Environmentally Smart
Here in the NW, we hear about how we should be thinking green more than many regions around the US. Thankfully, our general culture is more aware of this. However, as we know, you can never educate yourself enough and there is all kinds of room for improvement.
I did not grow up in the NW but thankfully was raised to at least be smart when it comes to saving energy. Our main reasons was not to help the environment but rather simply to save money. However, the same outcome still results. Now I am not going to preach about how people should change everything in their lives…but I am more amazed at how people forget the basics. Even my significant other loves to come home to every light on in the house…all night long…take extra trips out to work or simply leave things running all day long that coudl easily be turned off. Now really, these are no big deal but start to add up….especially when people all over our community are doing the same thing.
I love sitting in a low light ambience, having things turned off when I leave home…not driving aimlessly around wasting gas. I do not by any means consider myself to be overly environmentally conscience…as a matter of fact…I have much room for improvement…but I do pride myself in trying to remain aware. I like to read up on the latest and greatest gadgets. Maybe that is so that I am more knowledgeable as a realtor or simply because it fascinates me.
Now, with that said…there are many ways that each person can improve their everyday lives. I wanted to point out this website about energy saving tips. Click through it and see how you may be able to make a small change that could save you money and help the environment! Your tax dollars helped pay for this site so you may as well get something out of it. Even if you live in an apartment there are many tips to make you a better consumer of the resources around you.
Maybe if each of us continues to make small steps forward we will eventually get the words “global warming” to stop appearing in our everyday news and comics.
Have a great Tuesday.
