What happened to being a tourist?

July 17th, 2008 by Samuel Hilbert

If this is the first time you have read my blog this post may not make as much sense to you…but to my regular readers I must apologize. Two weeks ago I mentioned that I had family coming into town and rather than neglect my blog I would write about our experiences as a tourist. Well, two weeks later and I’m just now catching up and taking the time to sit down and blog. So, needless to say I am not going to take the time to go into detail about all of our experiences.

I really thought that I would be able to take the time to sit down and go through my experiences. While I had time occasionally to relax by myself…I frankly did not want to spend it blogging. I did make several observations in the past two weeks that are worth sharing with you…my faithful readers. A Local Realtor Becomes a Tourist…

July 1st, 2008 by Samuel Hilbert

I’ve been a little nervous thinking about how I’m going to handle the next couple of weeks. See, we have family coming in town from Guam originally from Thailand who have never been to the continental United States. While some of the family is out prepping at the Asian market and grabbing lunch I decided to stay home to work and get ahead. Well, now I have a couple of minutes and decided that instead of ignoring my blog readers for two weeks I would have some fun keeping you informed of what I like to do as a tourist when family comes into town. …more

I’ve posted this link before several months ago on my old blog that is now history…and since it is so fun to play with I decided to go ahead and repost it today for you to see. You can go see exactly what the odds are that it will rain on a specific day. If you are planning an outside event this coming summer…make sure you take a look at this “odds it will rain” chart.

Now, I’m not one to overly get into statistics and psycho analyze everything that I read…but I do find it fairly interesting that some days truly seem to really stick out statistically. One of the biggest observations I see when I look over this chart is that November 19th is statistically the greatest chance of rain…yet the day before and the day after both have a much smaller chance. …more

April 29th, 2008 by Samuel Hilbert

One of the major reasons real estate markets all across the country have been struggling to recover is due to many buyer’s difficulties in obtaining a mortgage. Since getting into real estate, I have spent a lot of time learning the financing industry. Recently I came across a new program that can benefit many buyers in our more rural region. Unfortunately, most lenders will not discuss this program as they do not make money. However, if you do qualify for this program it may be very wise to get involved. …more
