With all the bad press out there about the real estate market…especially the national real estate market…it is easy for realtors to jump all over the “good news” when something gets reported. I do this too. Honestly, I feel that it is necessary due to the fact that the media blows things out of proportion on the other end. It is a good way to fight back. But either way…the market is constantly changing and ultimately you can just look at the facts and keep watching the changes.

One quick tangent however is the media as I mentioned before. It is frustrating to see national news for the past 6+ months talking so negatively about the market. Especially because it often makes buyers forget that things are local while also making minor problems more wide spread. Sadly, the media has and will continue to really control people’s thoughts and feelings based on what they report on. This is a scary thing that is not likely to change. I have found it interesting that some national brokerages have pulled ads from television recently in protest of the media’s constant negativity towards this industry. Why would they pump money into supporting a medium that is working so hard to destroy their industry.

All of that to say that I do believe in combatting the negative press with good press…and of course, I have a optimistic story to make sure you check out today. It does a pretty good job at pointing out the positives without being to pushy or optimistic…really keeping it honest with readers.

No one knows how long the market will continue to struggle. We keep seeing glimmers of light but also negtive signs. It is all a matter of prediction, I have my prediction and you likely have yours. No matter how you look at it…the facts are that the market definately favors buyers. Many buyers still are sitting on the fence wondering how long it will favor them…the only problem is, eventually they have to get off the fence. I’m encouraging buyers to take their time…but get off the fence and go look. You definately don’t want to miss your chance.

Anyways…another sunny day with a cold start. I’m out and about all afternoon so hopefully you’ll get a chance to enjoy the weather…maybe by looking at houses!
